{Crafty Thursdays}

Hi there! Every Thursday I am going to be posting craft ideas and projects that I have completed! Today I made myself a doily canvas bag with my first name initial on it! I received the idea here from Ashley Ann in her blog Under the Sycamore! It was such an amazing idea and I just had to have another tote to carry my school books!

Here are the pictures from my experience:

I bought the canvas bag, fabric paint, and doilies at Hobby Lobby for about eleven dollars! *Real Cheap* (I think)

{1} First tape down the doily on the spot that you want it on the canvas bag and then carefully paint the inside of it. {See bottom picture for how it looks when it is covered with paint} After, take off the doily right away so that it will not stick to the canvas bag. The paint dries fairly quickly!

{2} For the initial in the middle of the bag, print off the letter big enough that it will fit inside the circle. {I couldn’t find any nice Times New Roman stencils, so I just printed it off instead} Then cut out the letter and traced around it with pencil on the canvas bag, making the outline of the letter.

{3} After that, paint carefully inside the letter and once it is dry you got yourself a snazzy looking book bag, grocery bag, or lovely purse!

This is my first real step by step D.I.Y. hopefully I did alright haha!

Enjoy guys! Hope you are having a wonderful night!
